Digital Twin

Marco Tillmann edited this page May 22, 2019 · 1 revision

As the name suggests, a digital twin describes a 1:1 representation of real world objects and environments in virtual space. It can range from digital prototypes used for manufacturing, to a comprehensive virtual copy containing all relevant metadata attributed to the life-cycle and maintenance of the corresponding real-world object. The expansion of this principle to the entire world has been referred to as 'MirrorWorld' https://www.wired.com/story/mirrorworld-ar-next-big-tech-platform/
