Mobile Inquiry Coordination Interface (MICI)

The Mobile Inquiry Coordination Interface aims at providing inquiry coordinators with access to the current on-going inquiries and the contributions of all participants. It also allows central dispatching of messages and management of tasks and data.

The Mobile Inquiry Coordination Interface is meant to be a “mobile” application, therefore the design and implementation is thought and optimized for tablet devices.

The Mobile Inquiry Coordination Interface targets “inquiry coordinators”. This means that the typical end user of the application is a teacher. Thus, for students-lead inquiries the end user could be the student initiating and directing the inquiry, i.e. with a group of classmates.

The Mobile Inquiry Coordination Interface app is organized in five tabs:

  • Info, providing general information about the inquiry
  • Track, showing positions of inquiry participants
  • Data, allowing access to participants’ data and contributions to the inquiry
  • Messages, supporting communication with participants
  • Badges, presenting participants’ awarded badges, with the possibility to award further ones.

These tabs group inquiry owner’s action to monitor and coordinate the inquiry members’ activities.
