Assignments:

  1. Install AMUSE on your laptop, and test your installation. Here are some instructions. Here are some extra notes for install in case.

  2. Write a report on your simulation project and report on it through by presentation and paper.

    1. Choose a topic for your project (projects should contain at least two solvers bridged together).
    2. Discuss the topic and simulation with the teacher and TAs to construct a minimum-passing grade objective.
    3. Carry out the project, use GitHub to keep track of code changes and simulation results (make sure that Teacher and TAs have access).
    4. Present the results at the SMA conference day.
    5. Write a report in Nature style.
      1. The abstract should comply to Nature format.
      2. The report should comply to the Nature guidelines.
  3. Submit for the final grading:

    1. The GitHub page with the complete code scripts, figures, and latex files.
    2. Data repository on Zenodo with meta-data and description. Use the following guidelines.
    3. The Nature-style report.

Although not mandatory, tutorials to familiarise yourself with AMUSE are available here. The book also has plenty of examples whose scripts are found here. These may also act as inspiration for your own projects.
