rootDir before upgrading to TypeScript 6
Checked tsconfig.json and package.json: this repo emits from src/ into lib/ and publishes ./lib/index.js/./lib/index.d.ts, but tsconfig.json only sets outDir and include with no rootDir. In TypeScript 6, rootDir now defaults to the directory containing tsconfig.json, so pnpm run build will start emitting lib/src/index.js and lib/src/index.d.ts instead. That leaves the published exports/main/types paths pointing at files that no longer exist.

I checked the TS 6 config changes against this repo’s sources: src/index.ts uses the global Buffer, while neither this tsconfig.json nor the pinned @shelf/tsconfig/backend base config defines compilerOptions.types. TypeScript 6 changes the default types to [], so after this dependency bump pnpm run build/pnpm run type-check will fail with Cannot find name 'Buffer' until we explicitly include the Node typings (for example via types: ["node"]).
