TrussForge is built on a Node.js backend decomposed into discrete microservices — the calculation engine, the document renderer, and the pricing oracle all run independently and communicate over an internal message bus. Structural data is persisted in MongoDB, which handles the nested member-and-joint document model far better than a relational schema ever would. Session state and real-time quote collaboration run through Redis, which stores long-term project snapshots between user sessions. The frontend is React with a custom WebGL canvas layer for interactive truss visualization — no third-party charting library was going to do what I needed.
