recipe

made using free apps on a basic Android phone (steps may be similar on iOS)

• set device's location mode to "High accuracy"
• download (free) Mapit GIS app
• within Mapit GIS create a new line layer for each trail
• walk each trail from start to finish, one by one
• export each trail (layer) as GeoJSON: Export > Share exported file > KML
• send to own email
• download KML
• upload KML files to Google MyMaps
