In the README, an image icon was appearing when it shouldn't because the link was to a file not an image. I fixes this.
In tutorial 1, images were not appearing for 2 reasons. First, the path was incorrect, so I fixed that. The second reason they won't appear is because they are pdf. I recommend creating .png fies of all figures and replacing the pdfs with pngs. Then they will appear inline.
