Hi, I'm a nerd who likes weird things. Like, really weird things. ✨
Oh yeah music too, but that doesn't count. Wanna jam, and is in HCM city? Hit me up.
Would code for money 🥀
Favorite tech: C#. Kotlin is pretty cool, I just hate the Android/Java build system. Gradle will take 5 business days to "build".
Hate most web technologies with a passion. JS should be burned in the darkest, deepest flaming floor of hell.
I do things I find interesting. So pretty much whatever my dice roll that day.
Someday it's infra, other days it's backend, or frontend, design, music, system/embedded, etc.
Please, push back on "you will own nothing and be happy".

Self host anything that you can. Domain names are cheap (*.io.vn is less than 1USD a year if you're a Vietnamese).
-
Can't, or don't want to self-host and manage the entire thing yourself? That's understandable. There will be alternatives to
<insert your bigtech app here>, like Proton, etc. Using these are fine too. No shame in valuing your time, just please put your money into companies/people that care about you. -

Buy your media. Please buy your media. Support the artist, go on Bandcamp or Ototoy and buy their stuff directly. Like a Youtuber? Donate to them straight with Patreon or similar. Spotify will die. Remember that. They haven't made a profit until 2024. They are blitzscaling. The CEOs and founders don't even care about music. Most streaming services barely pay the artists. The money go to the big labels. Also, if you actually own your favorite songs (in files you have full control over), that will stay with you for as long as you like, to listen to wherever you like, even if the services you bought them from is long gone.

Don't use vinyl records, it's a health hazard for no reason, and it stores music in a PROVEN inferior media format. Even CD is better, but idk modern storage exists. HDD, SSD, USB sticks, anything is better than those. No need for FLACs too, just MP3 is fine, for most people 320kbps MP3 is undiscernable from FLAC anyway...

Use an Adblocker. Please use an Adblocker. Also install SponsorBlock while you're at it. And do not use Chrome. They broke most ad-blocking extensions.

Doesn't mean you should pirate everything, that's kind of a d*ck move, pay for software or stuff you deem useful. Or just go open-source/free (they are different).
-
Encourage softwares with less predatory monetization models. Think FL Studio with lifetime updates, or pay-once software that actually works offline. Subscription-models are a lie. Yes Adobe.
