This PR updates the del dependency from version 6.1.1 to 8.0.1.

del v7+ is an ESM-only package, which required changes to gulpfile.js (a CommonJS file). The del import was changed to a dynamic await import('del') inside the cleanup task, and the usage was updated to deleteAsync.

Ran npx gulp cleanup and npm test to verify the changes. All tests passed.

- Updated `del` dependency to version 8.0.1.
- Updated `gulpfile.js` to use dynamic import for `del` as it is now an ESM-only package.
- Replaced `del([...])` with `del.deleteAsync([...])` to match the new API.
- Verified that build tasks and unit tests pass.

Code Review

This pull request updates the del dependency to version 8.0.1. This is a major version update, and since del is now an ESM-only package, you've correctly updated gulpfile.js to use a dynamic import. The change is functional and addresses the breaking change in the dependency. I have one suggestion regarding code style consistency in gulpfile.js to improve maintainability.

gulp.task('cleanup', function() {
return del([
gulp.task('cleanup', async function() {
const { deleteAsync } = await import('del');

For consistency with the rest of the file, which uses var for all variable declarations, it would be better to use var here as well. While const is generally preferred in modern JavaScript, introducing it in just one place creates a stylistic inconsistency within this file. Adhering to the existing style improves readability and maintainability.

Suggested change
const { deleteAsync } = await import('del');
var { deleteAsync } = await import('del');
