+Users began to prefix their tags in order to group them, in a kind of Hungarian notation. In this user’s prefixing convention, for example, apostrophe marks a general category, asterisk indicates a character name, plus is for pairings, at symbol is the author of a fic, wedge is the tagger’s own commentary, and end bracket indicates approximate word count.
