Timdim License v1 Readme

This is a semi-open-source license designed for software projects where the code is free to use, modify, and share, but certain assets (like music, sounds, or other creative materials) remain proprietary.

Key Features

  • Code Freedom: Use, modify, and distribute the code freely.
  • Profit Restriction: Only the original author may sell or profit from the software.
  • Asset Protection: Music, audio, and other creative assets are not open-source and cannot be used without explicit permission.
  • AI/ML Restriction: The code and assets may not be used for AI or machine learning training unless it is directly part of the software.
  • License Updates: The License author can release updated versions of the license to clarify terms or close loopholes. Contributors to the project must approve updates for their prior contributions, and anyone incorporating code from the project must comply with the updated terms.
  • Enforcement: Violations require written notice. The recipient has 62 days to comply. Any additional violations discovered during that period are included in the original notice.

Why Use This License?

This license is ideal for developers who want their code to be shared and improved by the community while keeping control over profit and creative assets. It balances openness with protection for key creative works.

Getting Started

  1. Copy the LICENSE.md file into your project.
  2. Update the copyright information to reflect your name or organization.
  3. Include the license in all distributions and derivative works.

For full legal terms and details, see the LICENSE.md file.
