given how old this codebase was and slightly abandoned, this is Codex take on making it a 2026-production-grade compatible library.

great improvements were done since the last 2021 deployment.

BREAKING CHANGE: this changes the whole library. Usability is still pretty similar, but this should be labeled as a major new version.
