Dewey

The AI assistant built into WordPress admin.

You open wp-admin dozens of times a day. Dewey lives there — a small panel in the corner, ready to search your content, take you anywhere, and get things done. Just ask.

Built by Regionally Famous.

Find anything in your archive

Your old content is worth more than you're getting out of it. Most teams bury ideas, rewrite things they've already figured out, and drift from their own voice because there's no easy way back in.

Dewey fixes that. Ask it anything in plain English:

"What have we written about email marketing?" "Have we covered this topic before?" "What did we publish about onboarding last year?"

Dewey searches your archive and comes back with the actual posts — excerpts, links, and context — not just a list of titles. Every answer includes inline citations so you know exactly where the information came from.

Navigate wp-admin without the menus

Start typing in Dewey and go-to chips appear instantly for any screen in the admin — posts, pages, users, media, plugins, themes, settings, and more. Click one and you're there.

No AI provider needed. No page load. Just type and go.

Get things done by asking

Dewey doesn't just answer questions. It acts.

"Create a new draft about summer recipes" — a draft appears, Dewey hands you the editor link.

"Show me my recent drafts" — Dewey lists them with direct edit links.

"Publish my onboarding post" — Dewey finds it, confirms what it found, and asks before anything goes live.

"Trash the welcome page" — same flow. Dewey always asks before something destructive happens.

Everything Dewey can do is limited to what your WordPress role allows. It can't do anything you can't do yourself.

Always knows where you are

When you open Dewey on the posts list, it knows you're on the posts list. When you're editing a draft, it knows the title, status, tags, and categories of the post you're working on. Ask a question and it has real context to work with — not just a blank slate.

Remembers the conversation

Close the panel, navigate to a different screen, come back — your thread is still there. Reopen Dewey within a few hours and it picks up where you left off.

The details that matter

  • Alt+Shift+D opens and closes the panel from anywhere in wp-admin
  • Every answer has a copy button
  • If something goes wrong, a retry button appears with a plain explanation of what happened
  • Adjust Dewey's tone, verbosity, and citation style just by asking
  • There are easter eggs. You'll find them.

Easter eggs

Dewey has a personality, and a few hidden layers. Some are typed commands, some are date-aware, and at least one involves the Konami code. Part of the fun is finding them.

Works the day you install it. Gets better with AI.

Navigation and content actions — go-to chips, creating drafts, listing posts, publishing, trashing — work the moment you activate. No API keys, no configuration beyond activation.

Connect an AI provider in Settings → Connectors and the rest unlocks:

  • Ask anything about your archive and get a grounded answer with sources and excerpts, not just a link list
  • Follow-up question chips after every answer so the conversation keeps moving
  • Context-aware suggestions — Dewey knows which screen you're on and which post you're editing, and uses that to give better answers
  • Content audits, gap analysis, and pattern spotting across your full archive
  • Dewey-voiced answers tuned to your tone and verbosity preferences

WordPress supports a growing list of AI providers through Settings → Connectors. Once connected, Dewey is a different tool.
