No objection to anything in here. I do wonder if this repo is the right place for this new info. Like, who is the intended audience for this content?

Then also, I know I proposed a git branching & release strategy for the repos we maintain and I haven't done anything to put them into play. I think the right place for that to live is on the application repos themselves (changes to CI configs and to their READMEs), do you agree?

Mostly us; but I don't mind it if someone else has eyes on it. I put it here in the interest of "this repo is where we go to find most deployment related things." That said, I do recognize that a CMI sysadmin also has to traverse to gc-programs to access the batch deploy script.
