  • I added an installer and updated the documentation accordingly. There are no changes in the program itself from version 1.1.

To install Compose for Windows, download Compose-for-Windows-1.1.1-setup.exe and run it. You can uninstall Compose for Windows from Windows Settings: Apps.

If you prefer to run Compose for Windows as a portable app, making no uninstall entries or shortcuts and storing its settings in the same folder as the program, download Compose-for-Windows-1.1.1.zip and unzip the file to a convenient location. You can start the program by double-clicking CK4Win.exe or you can create a shortcut.

Pre-release
  • Added Start at login checkbox.

  • Logging off or shutting down the system while Compose for Windows is running will save current settings. (Previously settings were only saved to disk when using the Exit button.)

  • An undocumented command line switch, /quiet, was added to support Start at login.

  • Changed various details of internal processing to support Start at login. This should have no visible user impact; please report any regressions or unexpected behavior in the GitHub Issues.

  • There is no installer yet.

A detailed help file is included.

To use this, download Compose-for-Windows-1.1.zip and unzip the file to a convenient location. You can start the program by double-clicking CK4Win.exe or you can create a shortcut.

Compose for Windows ordinarily stores its settings in %AppData%\Coises\CK4Win\config.json. To run as a portable app, storing the settings in the same folder as the program, create an empty file named config.json in the program folder before you run the program. If that file is present when Compose for Windows starts, it will load and store its settings there instead of using %AppData%.

Pre-release
  • First release. Everything is believed to be working as documented, but it has not yet been heavily tested.

  • There is no installer yet.

  • There is no "start at login" option yet. (That will be held off until it has been tested more.)

  • If you choose to try this, please report any problems you find in the GitHub Issues.

A detailed help file is included.
