Upgrade from v 1.8:

Download the file update_Carl-OS_v1.8.1.zip and extract it to the root of your microSD card, overwriting any existing files.

Clear install:

Download the files full_Carl-OS_v1.8.1.zip.001 and full_Carl-OS_v1.8.1.zip.002 Extract the archive, and then copy the contents to the root of a new microSD card formatted as FAT32 with a 32K cluster size.

or

Download the files sdcard_IMG_Carl-OS_v1.8.1.zip.001 and sdcard_IMG_Carl-OS_v1.8.1.zip.002, extract them, and flash the resulting sdcard.img file to an empty microSD card using BalenaEtcher or Rufus. Then, before inserting the microSD card into the console, expand the FAT32 partition to occupy the entire microSD card.

Update DAYS:

Only extract the file in the root of Microsd with Carl-OS v1.8.1, the last day.

Changes:

• Added ColecoVision System.

• Added Odyssey System.

• Added "Arcade name games" App, This application will automatically create a game list on ARCADE, MAME, NEOGEO, NEOCD, FBNEO, CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, ATOMIS, PGM2, and NAOMI systems, as long as the ROMs are in zip or 7z format. To display their full names, you'll obviously need to run it every time you add new ROMs.

For example, the Metal Slug ROM will display as "Metal Slug - Super Vehicle-001" instead of "mslug."

The program has a database of 66,000 different roms!!

Changes:

• The CPU/GPU Control application (Carl-OS System Tools) has been added, allowing you to easily configure the performance settings you prefer for each system.

• New themes have been added: Carl-OS Pastel, Carl-OS Yellow, Carl-OS Black, and Carl-OS Grey.

• Drastic has been updated to the latest revision.

• The Atomic and Naomi systems have been separated, making them independent from Dreamcast.

• Each system has been configured so that power consumption and performance are optimized for the best gameplay experience and battery life.

• PortMaster has been updated to version 2025-06-07.

• The option to use two microSD cards at the same time has been added. The method is as follows: one card will contain the system and an empty Roms folder, while the other will contain only the Roms folder and its contents. I repeat, only the Roms folder. You cannot load two Roms folders with content at the same time, as in this case the second microSD card will take priority if both cards have roms. This way, for example, you can have a microSD card just for the system (for example, 16GB) and another one (for example, 1TB) just for roms. It is also advisable to refresh the rom list in this case.

• Minor bugs have been fixed.

Installation:

• First:

This update is mainly intended for the Miyoo system version 20250527. You can update your console by downloading the file miyoo355_fw.img and placing it in the root of an empty, high-quality FAT32 (32k) microSD card.

• Second:

Due to the significant number of changes since version 1.54, it is recommended to delete everything except the following folders:

- App

- BIOS

- Roms (except for Roms/PORTS/PortMaster, which should preferably be deleted for the new version)

- Emu/NDS/drastic2/backup/, which contains emulator save files.

- Savefiles

- Savestates

- Screenshots

- Video

- Themes

- cachefile

• Third:
