Implement a custom MERGE, instead of waiting for a merge endpoint on the REST API. Maybe it will never be implemented because different wikis could have different merging strategies. We could think of one and talk with the community to come up with a good strategy.
A headstart could be:
- moving statements without duplicating
- keep label/description of the oldest item
- move label of the newest item to aliases of the merged item
- empty the start item
Unfortunately it seems it is not possible to REDIRECT from the REST API. Maybe we could add a description or a statement that helps admins to do this redirect later.
