"The highest-value role is becoming the Domain Translator—combining technical fluency with deep domain expertise to know which business problems are actually worth solving."

And from the HFIS Practical Guide:

"The real skill isn't prompt engineering. It's knowing what you want. When you can't get what you want from AI, the issue is usually that you can't define what you want clearly enough for yourself."

But there's a potential paradox:

Hypothesis A (More is Better):

  • Deeper domain expertise → better specification quality → higher AI output quality
  • Experts can anticipate edge cases novices miss
