Angular Material vs Angular MDC

What is difference between both of this and which is preferable to use?

How it is different from implementation and contributors point of view?
Are they both maintained by google ?

Angular Material is an official library from the Angular team. Angular MDC is an independent project. Angular MDC implements the official Material components from Google (but the Angular Material Team is trying this also). The problem now is that it seems that @trimox has discontinued this project. So currently, it is better to use Angular Material.
