Setup, compile and run the project on a simulator or android device

Base branch: develop: project needs to be compiled and run from develop branch where the latest changes are pushed.

Requirements

• Setup project following instructions in the readme.md file (https://github.com/stakwork/sphinx-android-v2/blob/master/README.md)
• Solve compilation errors that might come up and compile project successfully on Android Studio (we recommend AS 2024.2.1 Patch 1)
• Run project on a simulator or android device and record a screen recording video to be posted in this ticket

Acceptance Criteria

• Setup, compile and run project from develop branch. Record a video to demonstrate it was successfully completed

@seankibler if you can, please try to restore your account on Android. For that you need to follow these steps:

• Go to your profile and tap on "Backup your keys" button on the very bottom
• That will copy your secret words to your clipboard
• Store those words securely
• Uninstall Sphinx from your device and install it again
• On launch select "Existing User" option
• Paste your words and follow the restore process
• Try to message me again after that

I tried twice. Now, after I restore from mnemonic seed please the connecting screen is displayed but never proceeds into the app.

If I close the app and restart it I get past that screen but still not connected to MQTT, my profile is not setup (looks like defaults), although my lightning balance is correct.

App store version is 1.0.0-alpha28

@tomastiminskas Ok, glad we were finally able to communicate through Sphinx Chat. Not sure what the issue was there but I had reset Sphinx app a few times. I had a similar issue communicating with Pete before so maybe it was something on my end.

I got the project to compile and run on my device, here it is running mirrored into Android Studio.

I battled with version compatibility for a while and in the end I opted to bypass Android Studio bundled Gradle and JDK and install to the local system and force Android Studio to use my installed versions.

Running Oracle JDK 18 and Gradle 8.0 and I had to change Android Gradle Plugin (AGP) to 8.1 (it was 8.5 or 8.9 or something).
