As of v7.12, users are reporting significant slowdowns to regular operations in Specify.

It takes 80 minutes to update a single field across 5,000 entries – that’s far too long. Before, it used to take 35–40 minutes, which was already very long.
What’s more, it takes an enormous amount of time to perform a simple search in the trees or even just to save a new entry. Every time it takes at least 10 seconds (which wasn’t the case with the old version of Specify).
