Mark verses can get the segments confused

I was working on marking verse breaks for a new audio recording when I noticed that the segment times are all out of sorts -- out of sequence and with lengths that don't add up with the others. See the screenshot where (e.g.) v36 goes to 148.7, but v37 starts at 71.4. I had used Ctrl-Down a few times at one point in the same place and I wondered if it had added multiple segment markers, but I don't know why/how it got like this.
