How to make map-icons work with gmaps.js

I'm using this plugin https://hpneo.github.io/gmaps/ but i can't use map_icon_label with map-icons, only the text is working now.
Can someone recommend me a way to do this? They just don't have new Marker and just have google.maps.Marker
