How do I set up my SoundTouch speaker with OpenCloudTouch?

Quick Setup Guide

Prerequisites

• A Bose SoundTouch speaker (ST10, ST20, ST30, ST300, or Portable)
• A computer or Raspberry Pi on the same network
• Docker installed

Step 1 — Start OCT

docker run -d --name opencloudtouch --network host \
  -v opencloudtouch-data:/data \
  ghcr.io/scheilch/opencloudtouch:stable

Step 2 — Open the Web UI

Navigate to http://192.168.1.100:7777 in your browser.

Step 3 — Discover Devices

OCT will automatically discover SoundTouch speakers on your network via SSDP. If your speaker isn't found, add its IP manually under Settings → Manual IPs.

Step 4 — Configure the Speaker

Use the Setup Wizard to redirect your speaker from the (dead) Bose cloud to your OCT instance. This requires either:

• SSH access (if your speaker has SSH enabled), or
• USB connection (for speakers without SSH)

The wizard guides you through the process step by step.

Step 5 — Enjoy!

Once configured, your speaker will use OCT for:

• Internet radio presets (buttons 1–6)
• Station search via RadioBrowser
• Multi-room zone management
