Investigating the issue, this looked to be due to the upstream issue:

• it is undefined behavior to use this value error on latest nightly compiler Smithay/wayland-rs#698
• and was resolved by: fix cycle error when a static and a promoted are mutually recursive rust#120960

I've confirmed locally that the crate doc build now succeeds on 0.13.0 using the latest nightly: rustc 1.78.0-nightly (ee9c7c940 2024-02-14)

I believe we just need to re-run the doc job with this version of nightly.
