Rust Bookshelf Archaeology Day was a huge success. Thanks to all those who attended! Some notes are here.

We found a lot of ongoing work to do, as expected. We are looking for volunteers to:

• Do a first-draft revision of the FAQ. It is a bit out of date and needs many new additions to be useful.

• Work on going chapter-per-week on the Embedded Rust Book. This is apparently how our books were written in the first place (?): the idea would be to get together as a group, discuss a currently-targeted chapter (or a needed new chapter), and get a volunteer to spend a week on it.

I believe it could become a component in your tooling. It addresses a similar need as svd2rust, but in a more flexible way, in that it builds an intermediate database rather than going from SVD to Rust directly.

This is both language-neutral and vendor-neutral, and it is aimed at exposing and exploiting commonalities between different MCUs to make it easier to write generic drivers.

If it looks interesting, have a look at the docs included with the sodaCat sources, to learn what it is, why it exists, what it aims to do, how it works, etc.

If I have hooked you, I would love to see a Rust code generator added to it, which I'm not qualified to do. I am a C++ guy and have written a corresponding code generator that's included in sodaCat. But as it is language neutral, other generators can be added, and Rust would be a good candidate.
