Adding suggestions on typing in search input box

We can add a dropdown menu showing atleast 5 best result on typing...and select one of them to get the profile statistics.

i guess for this issue.. api should return such data as well.. and which i think github api dosen't..

No we can have the data from users search endpoint.

Actually yeh isliye add kr rhe...agar kisi ne mistype kr diya apna naam toh phir se type krne ke liye use back aana pdega woh annoying lg sakta

If this seems little difficult, then we have option of adding a search box in navbar in the profile page...then back nhi jaana hoga...agar galtii hogyi toh

Theoretically, this can be done by using Typeahead and a list of GitHub users by using the following endpoint:

https://api.github.com/users?per_page=1000

The above endpoint will only give 1000 users.

But the main reason over here is that this feature can't be implemented practically because there are approximately 40 million accounts on GitHub so you can't just get all the names again and again (through endpoint) for each search. You will require a DB to store all these GitHub usernames and filter the names from DB based on the letters typed in the search box.

And I think GitHub also doesn't provide autocomplete feature of usernames in their search box.

And a thread on github-username-auto-completion is also unanswered for a year now.
