Goal
Prevent fluid waste and make barreling more similar to other recipes in that you can't put invalid ingredients into the machine.
Why?
If non-barrel-able fluids such as molten salt go into the barreling machine there's no way to get it out without deconstructing the machine and wasting the fluid.
