It would be nice if profanity would support XEP-0118: User Tune (see also this FOSDEM talk by @ooguz).
It would be awesome if MPRIS and MPD would be supported. No idea, whether there are other protocols to consider.
The challenge will be to find a place in the UI where it is not too hidden but also not in the way. Maybe in 1-1 the header bar could be expanded from one to two lines if a user published now playing and/or user mood and the currently playing song and the mood could be shown there.
