We can customize everything using themes and font selection settings in Linux mint, except for being able to change the colour of text of desktop icons. It is white by default and to change it we need to edit the css files, this should be as easy as changing the font of the text. If some average user wants to use a white background with black text, he/she is unable to change the text color, essentially locking them to only having dark wallpapers.
