Dear Scott, Thank you for your inquiry and for sharing your interest in the One-Wire feature. We appreciate your attention to detail regarding the current support status. At this time, One-Wire functionality is not supported on the BG95-M3 module. The feature is currently available only on the EC200U/EC600U/EG912U/EG915U series as noted in the documentation. The primary reason for this limitation lies in the underlying chip platform differences. The EC200U/EC600U/EG912U/EG915U series are built on the UNISOC UIS8910 platform, whose BSP (Board Support Package) includes a dedicated hardware-level One-Wire driver. The BG95-M3, by contrast, is based on the Qualcomm MDM9205 chipset — a platform optimized specifically for low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) applications such as NB-IoT, LTE-M, and EGPRS. Due to the architectural constraints of this chipset and its focus on ultra-low power consumption rather than rich peripheral interfaces, a hardware One-Wire driver has not been implemented in the BG95-M3 firmware at this time. We are actively monitoring demand and technical feasibility for extending such features to other modules, including BG95-M3. Should there be any future plans or updates regarding One-Wire support for the BG95-M3, we will ensure to communicate them promptly through official channels. In the meantime, if you have any further questions or require assistance with alternative solutions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best regards, |

Hello,
I have this additional question, and then am going to read and follow-up on my other questions. :-)
I just read this fantastic article about support for One-Wire: One-Wire
But reading it I noticed it says "This feature is currently only supported on the EC200U/EC600U/EG912U/EG915U series." :-O
"Currently" ... so when will it support the BG95-M3?
We are investigating the other modules to see if we might be able to use one of them for US deployments, but our solution is also cost sensitive.
Scott
