Please put the version # in release executable file names

This has the advantage that when we go to download the latest release, we know what version we're downloading. It also means that if we need to roll-back due to breaking changes that we don't have to guess which installer to run.

For example, Talk is telling me that 2.06 is available but when I manually go to the download page (the dialog telling me I can open it, never opens the browser) no version number is shown on the page or in the filename. I have to run the installer before I can find out that 2.05 just got reinstalled.

We were thinking about it from the beginning.
We understand having the version in the filename is convenient.

However, this breaks:

1. The ability to have a permanent link to a specific installer (incl. README)
2. GitHub status for installers

The first can be fixed via an additional server or updating links where they are published.

Another fix — always put an installer (with the version in the name) to .zip without the version in the name. But then every time a user downloads the installer, the user needs to unzip, which is also annoying.

We discussed it with some people the last week, but haven't decided on the solution yet.

This part is already changed. Instead of a notification there will be a menu item now in the main menu, directly downloading the installer.
