I am running Sonata 1.7b1 under Cinnamon 4.8.6, which provides tray icons through the System Tray panel applet.
When configured to install an icon into the tray, Sonata instead displays an empty space, which makes no response to clicking. If the application is configured to close to the tray, then it becomes inaccessible following a window close operation, and starting the application from the launcher has no useful effect. Recovering the application window requires termination through signal, and the launching again.
When launched, the application prints the following message to the console:
(sonata:969038): dbind-WARNING **: 18:25:03.526: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
