What is OpenCodex?

OpenCodex = native iPhone app + self-hosted Node.js backend that bridges your iPhone to the Codex/Claude app-server running on your Mac.

Key capabilities:

• 💬 Multi-thread AI chat with real-time SSE streaming
• 🖥️ Split-screen terminal — full PTY over WebSocket, resize support
• 📁 File browser — tree view, full-text search, code editing
• ✅ Command approval — dangerous commands pause for your review before running
• 🔗 Tap-to-open path:line references in AI messages

Everything runs locally on your Mac — no cloud relay, no data leaves your network.

Getting Started in 3 commands

git clone https://github.com/mjmkk/opencodex.git && cd opencodex
cp codex-worker-mvp/worker.config.example.json codex-worker-mvp/worker.config.json
make docker-up

Then open CodexWorkerApp/CodexWorkerApp/CodexWorkerApp.xcodeproj in Xcode → Run on your iPhone or Simulator.
