Availability of the datasets on different years

Hello!
Thanks for putting up this dataset, what a great work!
According to your documentation, website and some other papers that I've read, it seems that the sub datasets from each country should be relative to different years and not just a single one. For example, according to your documentation, it seems that France and Netherlands dataset is available in many years, at least form 2015 to 2023. However, when looking for the download on zenodo, I can only find one year available per country.
How can I have access to the shapefiles from different years?

Hi Beatriz! Yeah, I agree that EuroCrops is a great initiative. For my country the Netherlands, there's indeed a dataset for every year since at least 2009. It's the government service RVO that publishes those datasets - every year one that is a little different from the previous one. The records actually do not represent the various crops we grow, but rather the various crop cultivation practices we have in our country as well as the various ways in which crop products are used. You can find a dataset here - works for recent years: AgroDataCube. You can also find the geometries of agricultural fields and their main land use per year there. I have actually tried to separate things by introducing an extra concept - a so-called "purpose / land use qualification" (PLQ). This allowed me to link the RVO datasets to the EuroCrops dataset. Moreover, it allowed me to store the changes that have occurred over time. Let me know if you are interested. Kind regards, Steven

Thanks for your reply @sbhoek and for sharing that work! For the project that i'm working on I would actually need a dataset containing several countries and years so I'm not sure the one you're proposing would work for my case. But still, thank you for sharing it!

If you need data for specific countries, you could check out the respective Wiki page and see if you find the original datasets. Otherwise, I recommend you look into EuroCrops 2.0

Thank you so much! Actually EuroCrops 2.0 will really help me. The eurocrops table shown on the github repo is the one used for the convertion of the original_code (present on the country-year geop parquet file) to the crop name according to the hcat4, am I right?
Maybe for future users you could provide a link of the EuroCrops 2.0 on this repo :)
