Version 5.6.1 executable still shows 5.6.0 in file version

Describe the bug
After updating from version 5.6.0 to 5.6.1 the file version did not change. That makes it difficult to trigger/detect my automated rollout via Intune.
You probably forgot to update the versioninfo in the resources.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install from kse-561-setup.exe
2. Start app, verify in GUI title, it is actually 5.6.1
3. Check file version of "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeyStore Explorer\kse.exe", still 5.6.0.0

Expected behavior
Check file version of "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeyStore Explorer\kse.exe", shows 5.6.1.0

Environment

• Version of KSE: 5.6.1
• Version of Java:
• Platform (OS): Windows 11

The version for all build artifacts is set automatically from a single source when the release GHA is executed.

Sounds like you didn't notice that build step failing and you made it more robust for future updates.

For the moment, I will use these files to check if the current version is installed or not. They did change on 5.6.0 to 5.6.1:

• "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeyStore Explorer\uninstall\unins000.exe" Version >= 51.1053.0.0
• "C:\Program Files (x86)\KeyStore Explorer\jre\bin\java.exe" Version >= 25.0.1.0

I reckon the issue should stay open until 5.7.0 release. Maybe some search leads here.

@op-cloudeteer-de FYI, I am currently making some major changes to the launcher (kse.exe).

One of the side effects is that the "file version" will be different from the "product version" in the future.

The product version will continue to be the KSE release version (e.g. 5.6.1) just as before, but the file version will be "2.0.0.0" for the next release and only change when the code of the launcher changes (which happens very rarely).

If this is a big problem, then please tell me so, there is enough time to change it back, but I think it makes more sense this way.

Sorry for my late answer. For deployment via Intune, we rely on some *.exe or *.dll to reliably change the "file version" on every update (MS does not offer a check for "product version"). Usually I check the file that is linked to in startmenu or desktop icon. If that is just a launcher, I'll dig in and check for other *.exe or *.dll files. Sadly Java files do not contain version info.
