Description
I am reading the recommended section under DDR4 OC Guide, and it says the following:
Note that AVX and SSE can vary in error detection speed. On Intel-based systems, SSE appears better for testing IMC voltages, while AVX appears better for DRAM voltage.
The Large AVX2 CPU test is a great stability test for your CPU and RAM at the same time. The more you tune your ram, the harder it'll be to be stable in this test. Be sure to run Normal Mode as Extreme will not use as much RAM.
Few questions:
- Do you recommend running AVX (not AVX2) and also SSE, separately, with Normal or Large? Extreme or Normal? It clearly states that Normal mode is the one recommended for AVX2, but not AVX or SSE. And nothing about large and small.
- For AVX2 it's probably Large and as you say Normal mode.
- Also, for how long to run each of them?
- What about Linpack, I haven't seen it mentioned? OCCT or Xtreme version
- How long do you recommend running TM5 and is there any point in running more than one config? Would 2 x configs at 2 hours each be better than 4 hours of a single one?
- Which of all of these tests actually help the most when it comes to recognizing hardware problems, rather than ones that originate from overclocking?
