[Question] Is datapack migration kept around?

Hi guys,
So... I just upgraded to 1.201-2.0.2 which gave me a warning that quests are now being stored in the config folder, and that my current quests had been migrated. To be honest I'm not too happy about this change because it's much easier to sync a datapack with a remote server than it is to sync (client) configuration files.

As such I'm re-evaluating my options right now and I'm now wondering if you guys are going to remove datapack support entirely, or if it will stay possible to migrate datapack entries?

Hi Peter, the server acts as the single source of truth for quest configurations, so client quest configurations are all but ignored. If you want to modify quests at runtime on dedicated servers, modify them in the config folder as you would for datapacks, then run /ql reload. Same goes for singleplayer worlds, just modify the config folder and run /ql reload to see changes to quests

For the record, I'd prepare for the quest migration utility to be removed in the next major version (3.0.0 likely).
