Are there any methods to upscale (X2-X4) images with transparency? Hires in different combinations does not work.

Not sure whether you're still looking for solving something like that, but I've solved it simply by reading alpha mask from original image, and resizing it separately within my backend logic (I use comfyui workflows in my service), then I apply back alpha mask on upscaled image. In my use case images upscaled from 1024x1024 to 4K are similar enough, so resized alpha channel simply fits. So I basically generate image with transparency using Layerdiffusion, upscale, and apply resized alpha mask from origin image.

If you're looking to do it directly in comfyui then I guess similar approach could work, but instead of backend service, simple custom node getting origin image alpha mask and resizing it would work.
