Core Concepts

Spaces

Think of Spaces as your main organizational folders:

  • "Bible Study" - for your regular study notes
  • "Prayer Journal" - for prayer requests and reflections
  • "Sermon Notes" - for church service notes
  • "Personal Study" - for your individual exploration

Threads

Threads are collections of related notes within a space:

  • "Gospel of John Study" - all your notes about John's Gospel
  • "Psalm 23 Deep Dive" - notes exploring Psalm 23
  • "Prayer Requests 2024" - your prayer list for the year
  • "Sunday Sermons" - notes from weekly services

Notes

Notes are your individual thoughts and insights:

  • Each note has a title and rich text content
  • Notes can include images, formatting, and links
  • Every note gets a unique ID (like N001, N002, N003)
  • Notes are never deleted - they're always preserved

Understanding the Interface

  • Notes that aren't in any thread
  • Threads that aren't in any space
  • Perfect for quick capture and later organization

"Full List" Tab

  • Shows all your organized content by spaces
  • Spaces with their contained threads and notes
  • Counts showing how many items are in each space/thread
  • Great for seeing your complete organizational structure

Navigation

  • Quick access to your most recent spaces and threads
  • Color coding: Each thread has its own unique color

  • Close items: Hover over items to see a close button (removes from navigation)

Note IDs

  • Every note gets a sequential ID like N001, N002, N003
  • Never reused: If you delete N003, the next note will be N004 (not N003)
  • User-friendly: Easy to reference in conversations or study groups
  • Persistent: IDs never change, even if you reorganize content

Best Practices

Organization Tips

  1. Start Simple: Begin with just a few spaces and threads
  2. Use Descriptive Names: Make titles clear and searchable
  3. Regular Cleanup: Move items from "For You" to organized spaces

Content Creation Tips

  1. Capture First, Organize Later: Use "For You" for quick note-taking
  2. Rich Formatting: Use bold, italics, and lists to structure your thoughts

Note Preservation

  • When you delete a thread, its notes move to "My Pile"
  • This prevents accidental loss of important insights

Many-to-Many Relationships

  • Notes can belong to multiple threads if relevant
  • A note about "Faith" might belong to both "Romans Study" and "Personal Growth"
  • This flexibility helps with cross-referencing and organization

Troubleshooting

Common Questions

Q: Where did my note go? A: Check the "For You" tab - it might be unorganized, or look in the thread you assigned it to.

Q: How do I find a specific note? A: Use the search function or browse through your organized spaces and threads.

Q: Can I change a note's ID? A: No, note IDs are permanent and sequential. They help maintain order and prevent confusion.

Q: What happens if I delete a thread? A: The thread is removed, but all its notes are preserved and moved to "My Pile" in "For You".

Q: How do I organize my content better? A: Start by creating a few main spaces, then group related notes into threads within those spaces.
