Project Summary

motoDEX is a live multi-chain Web3 motorcycle racing game where players compete in skill-based races, own NFT motorcycles and tracks, and earn rewards through an on-chain economy. The game is fully deployed on web, iOS, and Android and has generated 2.76M unique wallets, 7.5M+ on-chain transactions, and 80+ ETH in NFT sales across 10+ blockchain ecosystems.

This proposal aims to integrate motoDEX with Filecoin and IPFS infrastructure to create decentralized storage pipelines for user-generated content, racing data, and track metadata. As motoDEX continues expanding across networks, the integration will demonstrate how real consumer-facing applications can leverage Filecoin for large-scale, persistent, and verifiable storage needs.

The project will deliver open-source tools and workflows showing how gaming applications can store and retrieve essential game assets through Filecoin/IPFS, helping developers adopt decentralized storage in high-volume user environments.

Impact

This proposal addresses a growing need in Web3 gaming: reliable, tamper-resistant, decentralized storage for game metadata, assets, and user-generated content. Centralized storage solutions introduce risk, break verifiability, and limit interoperability. By designing a Filecoin-integrated data pipeline for motoDEX metadata (tracks, race results, assets), we lay the foundation for decentralized gaming infra.

If done correctly, Filecoin becomes a core component of user data persistence, ensuring game assets, track definitions, and race histories remain verifiable across chains and independent of any single server. Failing to establish strong decentralized gaming infra risks pushing developers toward centralized alternatives, decreasing transparency and long-term reliability.

This project will introduce Filecoin into one of the most active Web3 gaming environments, showing millions of users how decentralized storage can operate at scale. Success looks like a fully functioning, open-source integration adopted by other gaming teams.

Outcomes

Final deliverables include:

  • A Filecoin-based metadata storage engine for motoDEX
  • Open-source code for storing and retrieving game assets via IPFS/Filecoin
  • Decentralized race-history and track-data persistence
  • Developer documentation enabling other studios to adopt this workflow
  • Dashboard summarizing storage usage and access patterns

Success metrics:

  • Volume of metadata stored through Filecoin
  • Number of game assets stored and retrieved through IPFS/Filecoin
  • Integration reuse by other developers
  • Increased resilience and transparency of motoDEX metadata

Adoption, Reach, and Growth Strategies

motoDEX already serves a global audience of Web3 gamers, casual mobile players, and NFT owners.
Current traction:

  • 2.76M unique wallets
  • 7.5M+ transactions
  • Live on 10+ chains
  • Fully available on iOS, Android, and Web

By integrating Filecoin, we enable a more decentralized and trustworthy game experience. We will onboard users through in-game events, messaging, and feature rollouts that highlight decentralized storage benefits without adding friction.

Development Roadmap

The development of the motoDEX × Filecoin integration will proceed in structured phases designed to deliver a production-ready decentralized storage solution while maintaining stability for our live user base.

During the first phase (Months 1–2), we will establish the foundation of the decentralized data layer by designing the metadata schema for motorcycles, tracks, and race logic, and implementing the initial IPFS/Filecoin storage pipeline. This includes defining how game assets, race results, and progression data will be serialized and anchored to decentralized storage.

In the second phase (Months 3–4), we will expand the integration to support dynamic race history and gameplay-related metadata. We will develop retrieval endpoints for the game client and internal dashboards for monitoring storage usage, ensuring that the integration is scalable and can handle high-frequency updates from active gameplay.

In the third phase (Months 5–6), we will connect the decentralized storage framework to the live motoDEX product. This includes front-end integration, testing across environments, optimization of retrieval performance, and preparing extensive documentation for developers. The resulting system will be fully open-sourced and production-ready, enabling Filecoin-powered metadata to be used by motoDEX and potentially other Web3 games.

This roadmap ensures a smooth progression from prototype to fully integrated solution, balancing technical rigor with the needs of an active, large-scale gaming application

Total Budget Requested

Milestone # Description Deliverables Completion Date Funding
1 Metadata Pipeline IPFS/Filecoin schema, metadata storage 30 Apr 2026 $8,000
2 Race Data Storage History module, retrieval API 30 Jun 2026 $10,000
3 Full Integration Open-source release + docs 31 Aug 2026 $12,000
Total $30,000

Maintenance and Upgrade Plans

DEX Studios will maintain the integration by updating the metadata schema, keeping APIs compatible with Filecoin tooling, and extending support as motoDEX expands to new chains. The solution will evolve based on developer-community feedback and updates in the Filecoin/IPFS stack.
