Pop up menu fails to close

I've been trying to install ElementaryOS with a custom partitions layout (Tried erase and install but it fails) but I've been stuck on selecting partitions for about four hours now. The issue is that you can select a partition to turn on and close the popup just fine, but the instant you try to select its use case you cannot close the popup and have to restart to get out of the menu. Is there any keybind to force close it?

That doesn't work, though I did just give up as even without selecting a efi and letting them just default everything still fails.
