Eclipse source code covered in book: how to use objects code and concepts

Hi,

The book "how to use objects code and concepts" is based on Eclipse (I presume Eclipse JDT). Based on the publication date (2015), I presume it is based on Eclipse Luna. I've checked the github repo but I can only find tags beginning from 2020.

Is there any way I can download Eclipse Luna source code ?

What part are you interested in specifically? Eclipse consists of many projects.

For example, JDT-UI (UI things for Java tooling) has quite a few tags from 2015 and there are also *_maintainance branches for different versions.

Do you know what exactly the source code of a specific Eclipse version is needed for? I don't really see why the source code of Eclipse itself would be needed for a general book about Java?

If you prefer GitHub, I think you should still find the versions as well. For example, some of the versions that might be relevant are (these links are for Eclipse Luna):

• JDT-UI
• JDT-Core
• Platform UI
• Platform

Of course, there are many more projects that are part of the IDE and if you are looking for a specific snippet, it shouldn't be too hard to find the corresponding repository (especially if you know the package name).
