Extracted apk not installing

Expected behavior
After extracting the apk file into the phone folder, expected after the file is clicked it should show install guide.

Actual behavior
When the extracted file is clicked it shows file format not supported making it unable to install.

How to reproduce
download the app on F-droid here

open the app

click on any app

click downward arrow to extract the apk file

launch file manager and locate openAPK folder

open it and select the extracted apk File format not supported
