Problem statement

The current resampling function doesn't appear to go higher than daily. When working with annual data, there are cases where we need to resample data quarterly/monthly/bi-weekly/weekly. Is there any intention to add additional sampling periods?

Proposed Solution

Adding re-sampling periods:

• Quarterly
• Monthly
• Bi-Weekly
• Weekly

Triage — March 2026

Status: Not resolved on v0.2-integration. The resample frequency options still only cover microseconds through days. There is no support for week, month, quarter, or year periods — these require calendar-aware logic (e.g., months have variable lengths) that hasn't been implemented.

Jobs to be done:

• Add calendar-aware resampling periods: week, month, quarter, year
• Handle variable-length periods correctly (28-31 day months, leap years, etc.)
• Decide on alignment semantics (e.g., does "monthly" mean start-of-month, end-of-month, or the same day-of-month?)

Effort estimate: 🟡 Medium (3-5 days)

Closure path: Implement calendar-period resampling in a future PR. This is a meaningful feature gap for financial and business time series use cases.
