Adding products

Would you be able to include code to add and update a product please?

@kamazoy did you end up finding a solution for adding products. I am trying to add some code to do just that but would like to avoid recreating any wheels if possible.

Hi @vccabral - yes, I wrote a constructor and an API call, knock yourself out...

def constructProduct(title,price,longdesc,shortdesc,tags,images,wc_sku,manufacturer,on_sale,featured,attributes):

    wc_tags = tags.split(",")
    wc_cats = []
    wc_cats.append(wc_tags[0])
    wc_tags.append(manufacturer)

    imageobj = []
    for imgURL in images.split(","):

    product = {"product":
               {"title":title, \
               "type":"simple", \
               "regular_price":price, \

And here's the actual API call which will return the full object as defined by woocommerce (I store this in the database to do checks against as it's quicker than doing the HTTP call each time).

    product = constructProduct(ItemTitle,SellPrice,LongDesc,ShortDesc,Keywords,PictureURL,ItemId,on_sale=ItemIsReduced,featured=ItemIsReduced,manufacturer=VendorName,attributes=ProductAttributes)

    resultingProductOnShop = postNewProduct(product)

and don't forget to initialise

 apiEndPoint = 'https://yourdomain.com/wc-api/v2/products'
 u = "api consumer_key"
 p = "api consumer_secret"
