Hey, if you ever get back to this project here are the missing features I ran into right away:

union

#elif
// comments on the same line as something else

To anyone else reading: an easy workaround is to just append statements like so:

code.append(C.statement('#elif defined(__CLANG__) || defined(__GCC__)'))
