Hey, sorry for the late reply. I have been spending this week trying to have a lot of fun :). Thanks for the kudos! It's unlikely I will ever publish this since someone has a replacement, but who knows.

I haven't tried any of these crates yet so please correct me if I'm wrong. It looks like enum_derive makes use of plain old macros. There's also enumiter that defines a helper trait and makes use of unsafe code. Finally enum_traits makes use of procedural macros and defines an Iterable trait.
