My _tool_github_releases and cicd_releases are empty

Hey all,

Can someone help me troubleshooting why the _tool_github_releases and cicd_releases are not being populated? Is there any config I need to set?

This appears to be a known issue related to a migration that occurred in August 2024. The _raw_github_graphql_release table was dropped to change storage granularity, and while the collector should recreate it automatically, users have reported it's not working properly.

To troubleshoot:

1. Check your pipeline logs for "Extract Releases" and "Convert Releases" subtasks. If they complete in milliseconds (like 11ms, 5ms), no data is being collected.

2. Verify if the _raw_github_graphql_release table exists in your database. If it's missing, that's likely the cause.

3. Ensure both "Extract Releases" and "Convert Releases" subtasks are enabled in your GitHub connection/blueprint configuration.

Unfortunately, this issue was reported but closed as stale without a definitive fix. You may want to check if you're running an older version and consider upgrading, or add your experience to that issue to help bring attention to it.

@dosu I did not find any subtasks you mentioned and there is no configuration like this in the connection/bluprint.

It works on my setup, and I also checked the code — there doesn't seem to be an issue there.

Could you please verify whether the github_graphql plugin is enabled? The release extraction is handled by the GitHub GraphQL plugin, so those tables won't be populated if it isn’t enabled.
