replace `axios` with native `fetch`

axios dependency can be replaced with native fetch

I guess it depends on the required Node.js version support.

According to the package.json the minimum version is Node 14:

fetch() is stable as of Node.js 18. Node 14, 16, and 18 are all no longer maintained at this point, so bumping to a minimum version of Node 20 and using fetch() could be a good option if dropping support for Node 14 & 16 is viable.

We’re happy to make breaking changes as long as we maintain compatibility with the oldest LTS version of Node. That’s version 20 right now, and will be version 22 soon.

I had a quick look into how easy this change would be to make. At the moment users of the client can configure it to use a proxy:

We’d to keep that behaviour. That would mean replacing the custom proxyConfig object with an instance of ProxyAgent from undici.

Still a good change to make, and we’d welcome a PR. Just might be slightly more work than initially expected.
